3/28/10 So I am on my way to North Carolina for a week's vacation.I have packed bands to exercise with and a few cds for workouts.Never done that before. Typically , if I workout, i use the hotel gym. No gym this time near the house we rented for vacation. So I am going to have to make it happen in order to keep my promise to workout.
So, I am on the plane. At 6'2 and full figured , finding a comfortable seat is not the easiest thing to do. I always try for the emergency seat but I am not always successful. Anyway, we find seats in the emergency rows, still not a lot of leg room but its two seats as opposed to three across. Its time to buckle the seat belts. Now why am I sharing this with you? Well, because I know somebody out there can relate to barely being able to buckle the damn thing. Someone out there can relate to trying multiple times to get the seat belt fastened before you finally suck it all in enough to barely get the thing to buckle and stay that way. Someone has asked about a seat belt extension. I reached over to go thru it yet again and I could fasten the seat belt! And not only could I fasten the seat belt but there was extra material left over that I could actually pull! OMG! A milestone! Maybe all the stomach work Dre is having us do is paying off! For me, this was a tangible example that I am walking around in a different body. Maybe all of this hard work is paying off after all.
For those of you who are like me, jacked knees and overweight, but have the drive to make a commitment to yourself, just tell your self you can do it! Just try your best. Not some elses best but your best. Trust me when i tell you this shit ain't easy! But i am worth it. Are you?
3/29/10 This is my first day of vacation. I have to do something workout wise. The house we were in had three flights of stairs. I started running up and down the stairs and incorporated some other cardio and band work. Believe me when i tell you when you are on vacation it is hard to stick to it especially when everyone else was sitting around chillin! As i sweated away a funny thing happened. one of the guys staying in the house saw me doing it and started on the stairs after I did it! Too funny!
3/30 thru 4/3/10 I over did it on my knees. The rest of the week I mostly did walking to the beach and along the beach. However, with all the working out, I'd be lying if I said my eating was always correct. Hell, at one point there were three different cakes in the house! I am sure I probably added a couple of pounds in the process. just goes to show you that this life change does not happen over night.
